John Wayne
What is a John Wayne Commemorative Rifle worth? I have one that my deceased dad had bought about 20 to 25 years ago. Never been fired, and is still in the box. I also have a box of shells, I believe for it. This gun is in brand new condition

Is this a model 94 Winchester, or some other rifle?

Don't know about the model #, but I will find out. I do know that there were only 49,000 of them made, and they would all have to be the same model, wouldn't they?

The quantity made (49,000) agrees with the production for the John Wayne model 94 commerative. Issue price was $600 in 1981 and current NIB value at about $1,000. The Duke and the 1 of 300 issues are going for substantially more. Remember that these commerative guns are collectables only, and if removed from the box and fired even once it becomes a shooter, worth no more than any same year ordinary model 94, a third or less of the NIB value.
