Savage Lever-Action in 300 Savage

What model lever-action Savage in 300 Savage would have been produced in the late-50's, early-60's? My Grandfather had one that he sold a few years back, and he can't recall what model it was.

  model 99 most probable, many configurations from carbine to saddle rifle and breakdown models.
  have a saddle version and love it, but mine is .303...hasnt been made in about 20 years or more[:(!]
