Does anyone have suggestions regarding "making your own holster"?

I've tried Tandy leather before, and they list "holster" kits, but they are for folding knives, Leatherman tool, etc. The best bet would be to buy the saddle leather, and some liner leather, and some of their 'tools' to work it, and it would be by trial and error. But you could make one. But by the time you go through all that, and the money (Tandy leather is not inexpensive, nor are their leather working tools) you would be money ahead to buy a holster already made up.
What kind of pistol is it...make and model?

I have several (ie. Taurus 99 & PT940, Ruger P95, several .45 auto's, etc.). I was essentially looking for alternative "carry" ideas such as: fanny packs, alternative use of inexpensive portable electronic's carrying cases, or other. 0 -
Well...you might look around on Tandy's website. They have all sorts of kits that you might be able to adapt. I found it on a google search. Good luck.
