this is one of those questions you could talk about all day. if you are trying to find a good load for a specific gun, just buy a few different boxes, and try them all out. i shoot a lot of cci green in my 22s

stay away from remington, in any cal larger than 22, there 22 is ok but I always have at least one bad round out of a box of any large cal shells I buy from remington, so I try to go winchester

If you like my first shot? wait until you see my next!

thank you mag44 i have always had something bad or wrong with most of the remington ammo i buy i think their guns are great very very nice guns but i dont like most of the stuff they do with ammo these days i like their ultra mags though but not the short action ultra mags they are to me totally pointless . for .22's i shoot right now winchesters' .22 wildcat which is 40grains and does the job for me . most ammo i buy aside from remington does the job for me in .22

You will have to experiment some to find the ammo your gun likes the best.

Unless there is something new on the 22lr market I believe Yellow Jackets were about the fastest rounds you could get. But they may not do well in your gun.

Hit a shop w/ a good ammo selection and buy a box of say CCI, HV and Yellow Jacket and see which turn in the best groups from a good solid rest. Then as you run across other possibilities buy a box and try 'em out.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

Different guns different ammo and different opinions from different people. But the top end of Federal .22 ammo works great for me.

got to agree Federal red box & Winchester super X have always been tops for me,in my 22 auto pistols those two gave me little trouble and seemed a little cleaner also... K mart had the Federal for 88 cents a box last month they said there getting ou of the ammo buisness, bought 20 boxes that was the all they had

aguila super maximum hyper velocity 1750 fps..prefer 22-22mag ammo that is copper coated or clad ..try diff ammo till one works consistently in your gun....

One of the best things about getting a new rimfire is finding out which ammunition it likes best. I use the 100 yard, five bull sighting targets and shoot at least five, five shot groups from each different type of ammo from a good rest, to find the best groups. I'm consistently amazed at how much difference there can be! I am always looking for something that hasn't been fired through the gun so I can go to the range and try it out. [:)]

CCI Mini-Mag, clean burning, never had a misfire, but it cost a little bit more.
