Colt 38 age,type value?
I inherited a colt revolver in 38 special and have no idea what to list it for. It is a six shot double action with a six inch barrel. The barrel says official police, serial number 926992 N`. I'd say gun is 80%or better, a little wear on muzzle and cylinder. Thanks,as always, for your help, experts!

I don't have s/n info for this type revolver, but if it is determined to be pre-war at 80% the book is $325+/- and if it is post-war the book is $265+/-

926992 with no letter suffix was the last year of production for the Official Police: 1969. But there were some made on Mk III frames that used letter suffixes. (The Mk III used a different lock system, I think?) 0 -
tomh.; the MKIII is a completely different action. The original OP evolved from the Army Special. It has the same basic lockwork as the Python. The MKIII's were built on the J Frame, and had coil mainsprings.
