10 gauge question
[?] Wm. Moore & Co. double barrel hammer type 10 gauge. Are these usually the 2 1/2 " European shell or the more normal USA type? I sent that question to the owner and he has not as yet responded. I'd like your answeers / opinions as well. Thanks as always.

WITHOUT A MEASURE I WOULD THINK 2&7/8 SHELLS.
I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.0 -
While the Brits have had their own, unique, ways of doing things and there was a remarkable degree of variation between makers, I'm not aware of any 2.5" shells in 10ga. Not to say they do not exist, as shotshells are not my collecting speciality, but all I've seen over the years, whether brass or paper, were 2 7/8" or longer. My suggestion would be to invest a few bucks with a good gunsmith and have him check out the chamber length rather than relying on our blind long distance evaluations.
