1911 experts, help on the value of an old one
My brother called me last night about a one of his friends' 1911 and asked me if I would pass this question around GB so here goes....
He is trying to find out the value of this family heirloom. It is a "1911", not A1, It says "Model of US Army" but someone attempted to gouge this out for some reason. But is still legible if held to the light, ser# also gouged out(not legible), it is nickel or chrome, pat. date is 1913, barrel is in bad shape (full of pits) above the trigger it has S17 stamped and below on trigger guard it has 22 stamped. It was given to the guy by his father who was in the Navy and he said he always assumed that's where his dad got it. He was offered $3,000 cash yesterday which made him curious about it's value because he didn't think it was worth much.

If the people have become so apathetic that they will not vote out all the liberal scum (republican and democrat alike), the only solution is Constitutional Convention II the sequel. Let's get it right this time.

It's worth 5-10..............years in federal prison, that is.
It is a felony to remove the serial # of a firearm, or to even possess it.
Tell your brother not to fret, though. Even if the serial # & other markings hadn't been removed, it would still be worth only $300-400 because of the plating.
Did you say cash? Damn, how come I can never find a rich idiot when I need one?

What you have is a pistol that COULD have been worth $3000.00 if it was MINT but as now stands you need to remove at least one zero and maybe 2
on the left of the dot.find that guy and exchange for his offer unless he works for BATF in which case you will go to jail. no serial on gun0 -
