target caliber
If you were going to buy or have built a rifle purely for target shooting at a distance of 200 yards or so and reloaded, what caliber would you choose, taking in consideration accuracy and recoil?

6mm ppc, but the .243WSSM would be a close approximation.

200 yds? 25-06 or a 6mm Rem. Going to be 'bangin' and clangin' with it? Then the 25-06.

caliber you say, It would have to be 30 caliber (.308) because of the vastly superior choice of bullets made in match grade for the 30. You specified you load so that has to be a large part of the decision.
If in fact what you meant was actually what cartrige would you choose, the answer is almost the same, 308 Win. When hand loaded
to moderate pressure (45K ish) it is capable of extreme accuracy,
look at how many National Match Hi-Power have choosen it & then you tell them they are wrong- I want to be there though, to watch the fight.
