another info request...
some years ago i picked up a "clerk" .22lr 6 shot revolver, 1" barrell. seems to be pot metal with either a chrome or nichol plate finish with a steel sleeve in the bbl.
anyone ever heard of this one and shed some light?

I think you mean"Clerke" Price new to dealers in 1971 was $15.00 I think the name is French for JUNK !!!

I use to work with a guy years back, who was a employee of Bo? Clerke in Santa Monica CA. His job among other things, was to test fire the Saturday Night Specials that was Clerke's "Bread & Butter", at that time, circa late 60's early 70's.
It's interesting that Clerke marketed a stainless .357 magnum revolver during that time period. This was before Smith & Wesson went into production of their stainless revolvers. Clerke's revolver failed, because quality wise, it was about as reliable as the Saturday Night Specials.
When things got to hot for him, ( Bo Clerke ) in the Peoples Republic, he hauled a*s for New Mexico. Dropped the Saturday Night Specials and started making single shot target pistols, among other things.0 -

must be one of those original "saturday night specials" we always heard about from the gov. but for the wife at home when i worked nites (who dont like guns) and $20 LEGAL aquisition it worked to give her something.

Any gun is better than no gun ... but for personal/family defense it should be of enough quality to give you peace of mind that it will go "bang" when it needs to. Otherwise get a baseball bat ... has more mass than a thrown pistol[}:)]
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
