i think the selling point was that you could have a "45" in a 17/22 grip frame. for me, anyway, the 45/10mm glock frame is too big to be comfortable. so i bought a 1911[:D]

For the US market, the frame size is the selling point.
Some countries don't allow the ownership guns that use "military" cartridges, in those countries the selling point is "a legal 45auto"

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

There is about as much logic to the 45 GAP as the 17 Mach2 and that logic is ... It's new, it's hot, it's bad, buy, buy, buy!

As long as you stay to the safe side of working pressure you can soup up the 45 with newer powders and then the whole debate would have to start over again ... hey, if there is nothing new to "scribble" on many gun writers would soon be out of a job, and several gun mags. would go out of business.

A market was perceived for people with smaller hands that would want the same or better performance of the 45 acp out of a smaller double stack mag. pistol ... so they created the round and they are now making darn sure they do all they can do to create a market.

Kinda like the 357SIG if you want more than a 40 go to a 10, don't need designer bottle neck pistol cartridges. Ask any reloader, bottle necks are a royal pain to load with conventional dies, and the carbide ones, if available, are mega expensive. Thanks for all the new stuff, but my old straight walled chamberings get the job done just fine and all of my loading tools, revolvers and pistols are paid for[}:)]

But hey! If you want to go out and buy the newest, etc., go ahead. Lord only knows the economy needs it[;)]

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!
