m1 carbine experts, refinishing?

I have an Inland m1 that I'd like to have refinished in the standard arsenal parkerizing. It's not anything scarce. Just a mismatch of parts, so no real collector value. I just want to spruce it up a bit and make it look correct. Maybe even have the stock restamped?
Anybody have any experience in this area?

  Any original carbine, esp. one not import marked is valuable. To refinished it would be a mistake.

  I've had some carbine parts refinished by Paul White in Gaithersburg, MD (pswss@starpower.net), but most gunsmiths who work on USGI guns should be able to do a competent job. Just be sure that they use manganese phosphate.
  
  Actually, getting the whole thing reparked will probably make it look NOT correct. Most original M1 carbines has different color parts, as many were produced by different subcontractors.
  
  I can't give you the name of anyone who restamps stocks, but there are a couple out there. Of course, it's not worth the effort or expense if you don't have the correct (high wood?) type of stock. Even then, most folks wouldn't do it; you've got a rebuild, it will always be a rebuild, & you can't possibly restore it.

  I would'nt have it redone. i own two wwii era m1 carbines, love em.
  if decide you wanna sell yours email me a price before you redo it.

  I have been refinishing firearms for over twent years now and I would tell you NOT to refinish it. It is worth more the way it is.
