couple years ago i bought a savage cub single shot 22 and rechambered it to 22 magnum...solid little rifle with some heft and wood stock....thought i would do same again so i got a rascal....never got hands on first so i was disppointed when it arrived..plastic stock was sop but reciever and bolt are about 1/2 the metal of the cub...compare the two and the rascal should sell for no more than $100...fine for lr but not sure about magnum...buy and learn

Does anyone like the Savage 110GXP3 with accutrigger? Thinking in getting one for hunting. Also, great website 0 -
Savage makes two sizes of stocks; 2 digit model numbers for short actions/short action stocks and 3 digit model numbers for long actions/long action stocks. Some of the 3 digit model numbers contain short action cartridges, though. So Savage does make long actions chambered for short action cartridges.
Here is their site:

The barrel taper may be heavier on the magnum rifles than the standard short action calibers which would mean a slightly larger barrel channel...............[8D] 0
