I am looking at the new carbon fiber barrels. I really like the new Butler Creek (I think) that has fiber optic sights and utilizes the standard barrel channel. 0 -
In the price range you are quoting I'd sugget you check out Midway's Adams & Benett barrels.

Kimber makes a nice fluted one in stainless. I bought 2 of these, was going to make up a pair of target .22's for my Granddad and I. Sadly I only got one finished. 0 -
in the 150 price range i'd go with a Green Mountain ss fluted in 18'' or 20''.
I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be damn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.

Well, I think that this will blow the budget but.... I have found the one that I want. Volquartsen Custom Barrel Ruger 10/22 22 Long Rifle 920 Diameter 1 in 16" Twist 20-1/2" "Snake" Fluted Stainless Steel with Compensator. It is only over twice what I was wanting to spend and my wife wants me to up grade mine so she can have what I take off. I will just have to save up for a little while longer for the barrel.
Thanks for all the help

Take a look at this. I've used them and they are good barrels. Not Clark, not Volguartsen ... but super good value, match chambered barrels that are mfg. for Midway by a top line company.
