Gunsmith experts, I have a ?
Gunsmith experts,
I am building a rifle with a Par-Nor barrel and would like to know what I should get for the trigger, receiver/action, and bolt. Also, what would be a good stock for a bull barrel. Will be shoting .300 short action ult mag. Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm no expert but I would get a Jewel trigger,Remington 700 action and bolt and as for a stock I would get a Mcmillan A-5. 0 -
I'm biased but I'd go with a commercial Mauser 98 action and the jewel or Timney feather lite trigger and McMillan stock.
I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be damn sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble.

you post a tough question. to properly answer it I would have to be a mind reader. do you want a bench rest rifle, heavy weight for hunting from a stand, light "mountain" rifle, blue, stainless, or camo. usually one has a purpose that a particular rifle should serve and they vary from person to person. "www.brownells.com" is as good a place as any to start. look at their commercial mauser action, trigger, & stock selections and get an idea of what appeals to your pocketbook.

Ummm how about a Bat or Noseka receiver, Canjar trigger, McMillen stock, Nightforce optics. You know all the basic run of the mill parts.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
if you decide not to go Tailgunner's route in search of the new 1000yd light gun world record[;)]
then I say 700rem action, have it blueprinted, add a .250" recoil lug, chamber that PacNor (1:10twist ideally for long range and heavy bullets) and then set it all in an HS Precision, Mcmillan, or Shehane stock. A jewell trigger is nice,..but I have rifle basix triggers that you couldn't tell weren't a jewell. Of course Nightforce NXS glass with 20MOA tactical base and tactical rings from Badger Ordnance or IOR Valdada, etc. then get yourself either some competition series Reddding dies or Wilson arbor press dies (cut with the chamber reamer).
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
