Kel-Tec SU-16 field test update
Got back on range with two beat up AR 15 mags. Fired fifty rounds through each with no jams. I think the rounds may drag on the inside of the plastic mags that come with the gun as the springs are noticably stronger the the AR mags. Found S&B ammo to be the most accurate, shooting a ten shot group at one hundred yards that was just under four inches. I used a 2.5X scope and never let the gun cool off completely. I think this is a keeper! The AR mag with twenty rounds in it mounts in the stock and sticks better as it has two points of contact/lock. I wouldn't worry much about it falling out in the field, like with the two plastic ten rounders. I measured the tripper pull and it was six pounds. That's a little heavy, but there was absolutely no creep!
Kel-tec has another winner. It will be interesting to see what the final price settles down to be. I paid $550 but I wanted it pretty bad. I will report again when I have put a couple thousand rounds throught it. It weighed in at six pounds eight ounces with the Leupold compact scope and twenty round mag in.

Yes, a GI mag will fit. I don't think thermolds will, but they don't fit the mag well properly anyway.0 -
Thanks for the review! The mags you used for this test were 20rd mags right?
