JC Higgins model 48
A friend has a JC Higgins model 48 bolt action 22 that wants to trade. I haven't seen the rifle but doubt that it has much value. Any ideas to value or where I might get info or a picture?

Don't have my books with me but generally these Higgins guns were made by Marlin, Savage et al. and are valued primarilt for their shooting value and have little if any colectability. In really good condition (90%+) your looking at between 75 and perhaps 100$. Sorry, but tell him that you can get a brand new MArlin 60 semi-auto for about $140 so why would you pay him much for the Higgins?
