FRENCH? DOUBLE BARREL
HELP! Could anyone help with information on this double barrel i recently acquired.It appears to be a 16ga ga.sxs highly engraved.On the receiver it says Helice,Ekler,St.Etienne. under side of barrels says acier mens-mart, E.Fausti,J.Breuil.Any info such as make, model,price or where i can find this out would be GREATLY appreciated.THANKS If you need any other info just let me know.

Can't find anything in my references, other than the city of St. Etienne was one of the prinicpal centers of the French firearms industry.

You might also try asking the same question on Gunshop.com "The Doublegun BBS". They have a couple of French posters who know French double shotguns very well. Ask for "Yann" by name; he is the most frequent poster on the subject. Make sure to spell the markings correctly and describe all proofmarks, etc., especially those on the water table (flats under the barrels). They can often tell you even the workman who personally made the barrels! 0 -
