Put about 300 lbs of lead in it whenever it is at home.

You could also bolt a piece of very thick wall square tubing to it that would keep it from fitting through a closet door. The bolt heads would be inside the safe.

They make full size safes that come in pieces-ready to assemble (or disassemble) as needed.

zanottiarmor.com Their safes breakdown into 6 pieces..are pinned together from the inside....I have a BIG one that will hold 50 long guns, yet 2 guys can move and assemble the pieces...Really nice folks to deal with... I bought mine used, but wanted a different interior layout, and they shipped me the shelves with only a promise to send a check later!....Now who else would do that??

The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Mag had a very good idea storage sheds get broken into alot put something across the back of your safe so it wont fit in a car trunk or a pickup bed otherwise they will just load the whole thing and get into it at there own time

You are dealing with a compromise here; light enough to move when YOU want, but too heavy to move when THEY want.
Avoid anything by Homak; they're cheap, and thin.
Remember, it only takes 2 guys to steal any Harley.

If you know it all; you must have been listening.<br>WEAR EAR PROTECTION!

Stick a car battery (use one identical to the one in your vehicle)and a loud car alarm in the storage shed and attach the sensor to the back of the door before you finish closing it. When you come by to visit your guns, swap the battery out for the one in your truck so you alarm is always fully charged. Even if the batter dies die because you were gone a little to long, you can still swap them out and jumpstart your car with the good one before you hook it up to the alarm.

Your alarm remote will keep it from going off when you access the storage unit.

A late night thief thinking he's sneaking into a relatively easy job will get blasted with a loud car alarm and will suddenly feel like the whole world is watching him. Supplement that thing with a cheap air horn and he may not find it comfortable to stand there and finish forcing his way in. Even if he gets the door open quickly and kills the alarm in 20 seconds, he still might be a lot more nervous about taking the time to try and cart off your lead supplemented heavy safe. If you pick a storage unit with a night watchman, they hopefully will hear the alarm and be able to notify you that your unit was broken into so you don't have to leave it unlocked until you discover the problem yourself.
