handgun recoil reduction
I would like to get your opinion on recoil reducing products for 1911s. I own a kimber ultra cdp 11. I have a ccw and enjoy shooting and would like to become proficient with this weapon. I thought that a recoil reducer would be easier on the alloy frame as well as muzzle rise. I like to shoot a lot of rounds. Thanks for your opinions.

what ammo are you shooting? you might take a look at a lighter kicking load 0 -
I shoot the cheap fmj in 230gr.I saw that Wilson Combat has something called shok-buf and I was looking for opinions. Thanks 0 -
Shock buff will not do anything with felt recoil, but they do help some w/ mechanical wear.
To improve or lessen your felt recoil you are going to have to look at some type of compensator or magna-porting. As you state that this is a carry piece then magna-porting is probably along the lines you want to go as it does not change the size of your pistol.
Suggest you look over this site: www.magnaport.com
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
shoot 200gr lead or TCJ RN. that will do wonders.

For just general fun shooting and target work, there's no need to use full power loads. A nice target/plinking load with 200 gr. SWC is just as accurate (and probably more so), has less recoil and is easier on your alloy frame. 0
