don't be in a hurry .it will take@ 3 months after you send in your application.. then the ATF will come to the address on the application and inspect it and interview you. if you decide to get a lincense, you have opened up your life to the government. they will notEVER need a search warrant to enter your home OR place of business. you will either need a store front or a shop( business) with hours so they can inspect at anytime. the ATF will not issue to a person that is not engaged in the business.hope this helps

There are many wholesalers out there. Suggest you pickup a copy of Shotgun News and that will give you some ideas. However, none of these folks will really be responsive until you have your FFL because they will want a file copy.

Also, you will need a business address, which can be your home, but your are going to have to satisfy their inspection criteria and while it isn't in the rules ... from what I've heard they nit-pick a lot more on the home businesses, but I have no first hand experience of that.

Get a copy of the regulations, study them and then decide if you want to apply and how to best go about it (fixed business, home business, etc.).

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

Thanks guys. I am more interested in having it for gunsmithing reasons than anything really. I'm not a proffesional gunsmith at this time but I am learning. Just checking out things of interest. Anyway, I appreciate the info.

Answering your "real question", your FFL information is "sold". After
your FFL is granted, you will immediatedly start receiving flyers and
catalogs in the mail, unsocilited. I receive usually six to eight catalogs/flyers per week. 101
