Need help with contender.
I have had trouble with this gun from the begining. The hammer block safety is not retracting quick enough and I get about 10% missfires and the pin never strikes the primer. I was told to degrease and clean out all of the crud and use dry graphite for lube. I also replaced the hammer block spring. These two things helped some but I still get enough missfires that I can't depend on the gun for sillhouette competition. Should I trade the gun off or is there a fix? Help appreciated.
Thanks, Bob.

You are dealing with a company that stands behind their guns better than most. Let them help you. 0 -
I called Thompson Center Arms last week. Look up their website for the number. I spoke to "Frank" about a misfire problem. He told me to send my barrel and frame back along with a letter describing the problem and they would repair it and test fire it free of charge. They are very cooperative.

Folks above pretty much say it all.
You didn't say if the pistol was purchased new or used, but that don't make a difference as far as T/C fixing it, but if you did buy the frame new you wasted your time and frustrated yourself attempting to correct a problem that the factory will quickly cure. If you bought the frame used, like many folks you may not have known about T/C's life-time warranty, but now you do so contact T/C and make arrangements to sent it in.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
Thanks guys. I bought the gun used and I didn't know that it was gauranteed for life.
Thanks again.
