Moving to a New State what do i need to do?
I have a gun in FL a pistol down here you don't need any permit to own just to carry. I plan on moving back to MA where I lived 3 years ago and I was just wondering what I need to do I found this on the nra page:"Possession by new residents of Massachusetts, residents returning after absences of less than 180 consecutive days, or residents being released from active duty in the armed forces, for sixty days after release, return or entry. However, this exception applies only to firearms in the individual`s possession at the time of release, return or entry. A person may possess but not carry during this 60 day period"
I would be a new resident since I've been gone for so long and am currently a resident of FL. that was under the setcion of exemptions to the FID and licensing requirments. Does that mean I would not have to get a permit to posses? Thanks alot

Why in the world do you want to move back? The taxes are outrageous, then there's Kerry and Kennedy, the winters suck, did I mention Kerry and Kennedy?
Sorry...given the choice between good clam chowder and nice warm weather, guess which one I'll pick!!!

there are no jobs in the part of florida i live i lived in MA for 18 years i enjoy it up there I lived in CT to where taxes are less. I checked out that page but the wording is the same I cant tell if it means you dont need one at all or if you have so much time to get one once you move. 0 -
The 60 day rule is to give you time to apply for your CCW or FID cards.
You can bring your guns here but you cannot carry unless you have the permit.
They went up from 25.00 to 100.00!!! (kennedy needs a new olds)
If you are going to live near NH get a mail in permit there for 20.00 also it helps not to be caught across the line with just your MA id.
I measured it and cut it twice, and it's still too short!0 -
Hey there. I recently vacationed in New Hampshire (live in Illinois) and visited many gun stores to see what I could see. One thing I noted when talking to shop owners was that the first thing they asked was if I was from Ma.. They seem to be a little hinky about even talking to you if you are! Also they told me they were making a great deal of trade from that state as it was beccommong so restrictive there that people were dumping thier guns in N.H. and often had to do so at a big loss. None of this bodes well for your gun rights in the state of MA. I would think! "Fear the man who fears your guns" because he will likely try to legislate them away from you! Really like the comment I read on Kerry and Kennedy...freaking fascists both! Perhaos youshould think about moving to New Hampshire..long commute to work but at least they 'live free' up there! Good luck and keep up the good fight!
