The "Mystery" tastefully engraved gun?
The "Mystery" gun, that I had previously, asked about, in another post(That I said was "Tastefully" engraved)where I wanted to know, if the value of a gun, would be "Degraded"(Or, if not?)by virtue, of being engraved, was a Colt .357, with a four-inch barrel(Vintage model, made 1953-61)!

your gun is worth the book value of the gun plus whatever the market will bear on the engraving. bring it to a engraver and have it appraised,(just like art.) if you can identify the engraver, it will help in leaps and bounds. remember, great gun + cheap engraving = why? if the gun was worth collecting, then the smart owner would have invested in good engraving. if it was a try gun by some beginner, he ruined it. if the gun is worth collecting but the owner wanted his pet monkey swinging on grapvines above the trigger plates, youre screwed. but if it was donald trumps monkey, well you got a valuable gun. if you could post a pic it would help.
