223 rem and NEF shooters?

i've used the ruger 223 and a lot of people around here do for 100 yards or so shooting. how many of you 223 owners shoot 150 to 300 yards and is it accurate to those distances? would a NEF heavy barrel do to those distances?

  an experianced shooter can accurately make 500+ yard shots with a .223rem. so 150-300 yards should be no problem with some practice. the NEF heavy barrel would probably be good enough to shoot 300 yards or so with the right ammo.

  I can rountinely make hits on small varmits at 250-300 yds with a 223 in a very accurate rem. 700 but the problem with the 223 becomes how much energy you have left "way out there" on larger varmits. In my opinion, past 250yds your better off with something bigger(22-250,220 swift,WSSM,243,6mm, etc.). -- I have a friend who has the NEF heavy barrels in several calibers and they are all suprisingly accurate...........[8D]
