Need a little more info. and ideally pictures.

H&A were prolific in their production, making several models that they didn't even catalog.

While my reference library is not extensive on H&A I do have 3 sources that I cross reference and can find no mention of a No.6

If you can't provide prictures then give us some more descriptive data, such as: rimfire or center fire, exposed hammer, top break or solid frame w/ removable cylinder .... etc., etc.

Following is picture sent to me.

Hopkins & Allen were in business from 1868 to 1916. Your revolver was probably made prior to 1898, when the name was changed to the "Hopkins & Allen Arms Co."

Unfortunately your revolver falls into the "Suicide Special" category, even in "almost mint" condition it's not going to bring a lot of money.

Believe the "No 6" refers to the caliber, they made a series of revolvers denoted by numerals that refered to the caliber, i.e. "6" would be .32, "7" would be 38 and "8" would be .41.

If you want to research your revolver further, get hold of a copy of "H & A Revolvers and Pistols" by Charles Carder.

Thanks for info. Sent pix to Contender. Rufe I know its not one of the crown jewels but I don't really have anything in it. Took it as boot in a trade from someone who wanted $100 for it. I like it because it is so crisp and new condition. Had the choice of it or a late H&R 922. I'm mostly into older stuff. Thanks again.

I recently fired a H&A .32 and a Iver Johnson Cycle Works in .38 S&W and had no problems and they were actually fun to shoot and o'k as far as accuracy at 25' Don't matter how old the firearm is as long as you or someone you know inspect it and use the proper ammo. Price on these revolvers are at an all time low even though some of them look pretty ornate, just enjoy what you have and remember...the rarest firearm is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
