GDHP = Gold Dot Hollow Point An excellent defence round and usually very pricey. Typically runs $10 for 20 rounds. See retail description below: "Gold Dot Ammunition is the first high performance handgun ammo to be loaded with thru, bonded core bullets. Speer's superior Uni Cor process bonds the jacket to the core one molecule at a time virtually eliminating core jackets separations are the most common cause of bullet failure. Each Gold Dot bullet design is fined tuned for the cartridge in which it is loaded. Jacket thickness, cavity shape and depth, and nose profile are set for maximum performance at the intended velocities. The jacket wraps into the cavity to produce a smoothly finished edge for reliable feeding. Gold dot is primed with famous CCI primers and the premium brass cartridges are nickel plated for durability and smooth function. This care in design and manufacturing means top flight accuracy, penetration, expansion and weight retention." 0 -
15 bucks for 50 rounds is a really good deal. Cabelas.com has 20 round boxes for $12.99 and cheaperthandirt.com has 20 rounds for $11.07 0 -
The Speer Gold Dot is an excellent premium grade bullet used by some law enforcement agencies and by alot of individuals for personal protection. If you wanted to handload the ammo you mentioned, just the purchase price of the bullets alone would cost about 10 -14 dollars per hundred in most places, not to mention that the 357 sig is more difficult to reload than a straight walled case because of the shoulder. -- That is good quality ammo he has for sale.-- You might check around some of the wholesalers to see what it goes for and then decide.............[8D] 0 -
If you have difficulty with reloading "because of the shoulder", your dies are screwed down too far at the seating/crimping stage.
If you know it all; you must have been listening.<br>WEAR EAR PROTECTION!0 -
The problem "because of the shoulder" is that you can't get carbide dies for them and you have to lubricate the brass just like a shouldered rifle case even thou it is for a pistol.............[8D] 0
