McCormic's are good. So are Wilsons. Both are toward the upper end in price. Others in that price range are Ed Brown, Cylinder & Slide and Mec-Gar.

ProMag is a little less expensive, and you've always got mil-spec which are economical.

Like most anything in the 1911 world prices range all over the map.

If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!

I like the powermag version with a stronger spring. I have used a number of these.

I have two that have been trouble free. I've got 5 Wilson's and just ordered 4 more. The Wilson's seem a little smoother to me, but like I said, the McCormicks were trouble free. You can buy the Wilson #47D (8rd) for around $23.50 on GB. Last I looked, www.sportsmansguide.com was running a special on the McCormick Power Mags.

After a bit of talking around, I settled on Wilson, got two of the 47D and five of the 7-round officer size. Great mags. List is, I believe, $28.
