I have one also that was made in 1961.It is a 3 screw old model with a steel ejector rod housing and the XR3 grip frame.Mine is model #RSSMW The W is for walnut grips. The XR3 grip frame is shaped like a Colt SAA grip frame. It you call the Ruger factory, they can tell you when it was made.In the early 1960s they changed the shape of the grip frame and dropped the steel ejector rod housing in favor of a aluminum one.The price is about right if it has the right grips and not been converted by the factory to use a transfer bar safety setup. The original box and paperwork add greatly to the revolver. Some 22 mag marked revolvers came with a 22 LR cylinder and some did not.Call Ruger,

Although not as common as other variations of the Single-Six, I have seen several examples of the Ruger Single-Six marked on the frame ".22 Magnum". It was offered that way. The dual cylinder models normally won't be marked differently from the regular Single-Six models. The ones marked ".22 Magnum" were usually (if not always) in just .22 Magnum.

heres a little info out of the standard catalog of firearms: (old model 3 screw) Single Six .22 Magnum model is similar to the Single Six except that it is chambered for the .22rimfire Magnum and the frame is so marked. It was offered in the 6.5" barrel length only and was manufactured for three years. An extra long rilfe cylinder was added later in production . The serial number range is 300,000 to 340,000 values listed are Exc. $350 V.G. $300
manufactured date was from 1959 - 1962 for the mag. only, them on to 1969 with both cylinders0
