Help, Need a 30Gibbs Reamer
Due to some issues with the chamber on my 30-06 (26" barrel), it looks like the best way to save the barrel is to setback and rechamber to the 30Gibbs (need to eliminate the entire neck area of the chamber, as it is grossly oversize).
Would anyone have (or know of someone that has) a 30Gibbs reamer to loan or rent at a nominal fee?
I will be checking with "Shawnee reamer rental", but in the past my smith has had problems with dull reamers from them (not to mention there shipping problems of late).

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

i've got a 30/06 a.i. reamer, if that helps. 0 -
Thanks Mike, but with either the standard or the AI reamer I'd literaly have to cut the entire thread off the barrel and start over. With the Gibbs only having a 1/4" neck, the setback can be that much less to acheive cleanup. My smith will be doing a chamber cast this week to determine just how bad it is, but by measuring the fired brass it looks like the neck is at least .010 over SAMMI spec.
As the barrel has less than 200 rounds thru it, I'd like to try and save as much of it as I can (Shilen #5 30cal 1-12 @ 26" currently).

Tailgunner,
I knew that I had seen one somewhere:

Nononsense
I'm not regestered at 24Hr, can you contact him to see if he still has it? While I'd prefer to borrow it, his price isn't bad (reamer alone is 85+ shipping from midway, plus the gauges at 20 ea.
Thanks

Tailgunner,
Done. I asked him to let you know one way or the other (sold or available). He has a low post count so it may take a couple of days for him to get back to you. He does not list an e-mail address, either. Let me know if you need to try to get his attention again and I'll see what I can do.
