CS Richmond Musket Question, "HELP!!!"

    The date will be on the lockplate. Some Richmond muskets were made from parts that were taken from Harpers Ferry.

    Here's what I have in My database:

    RICHMOND CARBINE; Cal. 58, bbbl. 25", 2 bands; 3 sling swivels, Bronze butt plate marked C.S Lockplate "C.S. Richmond plus year.

    RICHMOND NAVY MUSKETOON; SMOOTH BORE Cal 62, bll 30"; follows pattern U.S. Model 1855, Lockplate. "C.S. Richmond, Va. plus year.

    RICMOND RIFLED MUSKET; Richmond, Va. mfgd. with Machinery removed from Harpers Ferry. Cal. 58, bll. 40"; close copy of U.S. Model 1855; Brass Butt plate. Lockplate marked at Forward end. "C.S. Richmond, Va." End of lock marked with Year, Barrel Marked with year.
    No mention of Patch Boxes or Mention of Brass Barrel Bands... Value of the above muskets start at $7500.00 and up to $10,000.00...in Good Condition...In excellent condition add about 25%.....

    Yes this does help. I did a search on the web and mostly came up with ads for a Richmond reproduction now on the market. Did find one interesting item. A Mr. Paul Davies wrote a book, "The Richmond Rifle", it showed a picture from the book w/many rifles, some had patchboxes-others did not. Not sure if these were Richmonds or just 1855 used for comparision. Does anyone out there have this book? What I am trying to do is make a "CS Richmond" but I want something differant for all my trouble. Thanks everyone, Oden.
