1886 Win.
I have a nice 86 in 45-90 that unfortunatly has a pretty badly pitted bore. About what would it cost to have someone sleeve the barrel? Anyone have a recomendation as to who to contact about doing the work? Thanks Steve

Its gonna be worth more left as is........Sleeve or Rebore will blow the Value in the Weeds....You could possibly have $5000.00 Rifle and turn it into a $1500.00 Shooter...Choice is Yours.....

Hello Idaho cowboy...
I am for the most part in agreement with the good Captain's reply, but a lot also depends upon the condition of the rest of your rifle. If it is something other than a standard Sporting Rifle, or in otherwise very nice condition, then I would recommend having it completely restored (which is not the same as having your local shop refinish it). If it is a standard Sporting Rifle in average condition, then it would be best to leave it as is.

Another vote here for not altering it!!!!Original condition regardless of the bore is much more desireable.
Love them Pre-64's!!!!-Bob0
