WASR 10 Romanian ak 47?

Just picked one of these up. What is the deal with the big spring in the stock? The rifle has a hole in the butt plate with a hinged cover plate. Inside is a large spring? I have not seen any other ak variants with this, what is it?

  The hole is for the cleaning kit. The spring is to automatically push the cleaning kit out the hole when the cover is pushed out of the way. You will find this standard on almost all AK's (and SKS's) from around the world.

  That is what I thought, All my others have Druganov style stocks, that is why I hade never seen this option before. Thank You.
