I carried one on duty for 10 years, it was the best weapon I ever had![:D] It was like part of me, what ever I pointed it at I hit. Then we had to change to dept. issued Glock 22's & 23's, which are good all around duty weapons, but still not as good as the P220![:0]

I just purchased a sig 220 45 cal after having a 239 9mm for 6 months. I can't ever remember being completely satisfied with a gun until I shot my 239 over and over a again (about a 1200 rounds since Nov.) I had a Firestar .40[V], Rossi 357[xx(], Ruger blackhawk 357-(wish I still had that one back[:(!],) beretta 9mm, beretta .22 and a buckmark .22. The sig 239 was the first handgun I bought that I said to myself after the first clip that I would keep it for life! Really! Super Easy to clean! Cheap to shoot! Accurate, with recoil I expect from a 9mm. I also shot and loved the Springfield XD 9mm but couldn't find myself to pass on the sig 220 in 45 which I have read so many great reviews about in this site. I would like to hear others comment about the sig. Good or bad and their first love with a particular handgun.

TOTALLY AGREE!! I bought a Sig 239 .40cal after owning a Beretta .40 for a while. The 239 shoots so much more smooth, I could not believe it! I have put about 500 rounds through it since 3 months ago when I bought it, and I could not be happier with a firearm. I was told it was for people with small hands, but I am 6'2, 220lbs, and have very large hands, and it suits me perfectly! Easy to conceal, PERFECT for home protection, which is the reason I bought the Beretta originally for in the first place...I am paralysed and there is no car in the driveway and I've had about 3 attempted break-ins, but I always got in my chair and the intruders would hear me and run, but now I will just wait with my Sig and they can come on in! I can't miss with this handgun! I admit, I had a tight grouping with my Beretta, but the action is so smooth with the Sig, the Beretta pales in comparison! Just want anyone considering Beretta vs. Sig, GO WITH SIG!! I tried the Beretta 96DAO and the 96 and still prefer the Sig to any firearm I have ever shot, including the Colt Delta Elite, Beretta 92F, and even my Sig P-226 9mm. The stopping power with the .40 is incredible and it has the feel of shooting a 9mm! My next purchase will be a Walther 99 .40, and if anyone has shot one and can compare it to a Sig 239, let me know what you think.[V][V][:D]

I'm with all of you guys! I just purchased my Sig P220 last November, and it is by far the best hadngun I have ever owned! And I have owned just about all of them. To include, Colt Gold Cup, 1911, Thompson Auto arms, 45 1911, Glock 19, and 26, Taurus 92, 9mm, Springfield XD 9mm, S&W 645 45 ACP, Beretta 925-25cal Tomcat, Looking Glass 32 auto, Ruger Single Six 22 long rifle, Ruger single six 22 wmr, Ruger MK 11, 22 long rifle, S&W 29 357 mag. That is all I can think of right now, but you get the picture, with all of those to compare too, the Sig P220 is far and away the best of them all!
    Great shooting!
