9mm Double Stack Mags

I think you are confusing single feed vs. single stack. Most pistol mags will feed from a single set of feed lips, but specifically the Ruger and Glock mags are a double stack mag (except for the .45 cal from Ruger. The current post-ban glock mags show a single line of witness holes, but the shells stil do stagger somewhat indide the mag. The sub-compact models still do a standard stagger side to side as the pre-ban mags did.

While in the magazine the shells will stagger side to side to fill the interior of the magazine body. A single stack will have all of the rounds stacked one directly on top of the other. Unlike many rifles ie. AK, AR, Mini 14, HK where the shells feed from both sides of the magazine using the feedlips independently from one another or alternately if you will. Most pistols will feed from both lips simultaneously.

Yes, confused is the operative word here! I am interested if there are any 9mm mags where the shells are fed using the feedlips independently as my AR feeds it's .223.

    Thanks again guys,

    UZI's (pistols or carbine), HK MP5/HK94, HK SP89, TEC 9, AP 9, Feather Industries AT-9, Night Hawk 9mm, Colt AR15 in 9mm, Sterling 9mm, ...

Normally this system is not used on pistols due to the width of the weapon itself. The necessary size of the breach face as well as the corresponding size of the slide. A widened feed ramp is also normally required. All of these things restrict this application in a standard pistol, but it is found in paramilitary designs as well as pistol versions of paramilitary rifles.
