anaconda barrel

I have a Colt Anaconda .44 mag with an 8 inch barrel on it. The gun is mostly used for whitetail hunting. I am considering putting a longer barrel on it. To get a barrel do i have to send it to colt or can i get a new colt barrel online? Do they make a accurized barrel? How much will a 12 or 14 inch barrel improve the groups.

  I think 8" was the longest barrel available on the Anaconda. So I doubt if Colt will be able to help you.
  Let's see if any of our ballistics experts will talk you out of it.

  barrel lenght has nothing to do with group size a 2" barrel will 'group' as well as a 12" one. a longer sighting plain helps you aim more accuratly. personaly i like a 6" barrel for hunting, 8" or over is just to unhandy. if you 'have to have' a longer barrel your only option is a custom barrel.
