On average I believe the 165 Gn. shoots more accurate out of an 30-06.

Any of those three weights will do just fine.

    1-Powder

    2-Patch

    3-Ball

    4-Remove the Rod

    5-Do Not Forget the Cap.

The 165's seem to be the most popular around here but you might want to see what shoots best in your gun.

Whichever weight/load was the most accurate in your gun. Any of the bullet weights you mentioned are plenty for whitetails. If you don't want to experiment, go with the 150s for the lighter recoil..........[8D]

Hand loaded some 110 corelock that were screaming for a budy and they did great. Any of the mentioned will work great for whitetails. It all depends if the state record is in your woods. I would use what ever shoots best. If you are in the north east I might look on the heavier side; if your in the carolina's 150's are more than enough.

The 30-06 was originally tested with a 160-165 grain bullet and that's what performs best. some guys here in pa farm country use the 180 on drives through thick cover.I prefer the .270 now that i'm older but the 06 has put a lot of whitetails in my freezer, and when it comes down to it; it's SHOT PLACEMENT!! that does it. jim

165s are great for short and long range, I like Nosler ballistic tips!

150 grain Remington spitzer is all you need.

Nothing deflects brush, the odds of a shot beyond 100 yards is slim. Learn to shoot well and you are good to go.

Find out what your gun shoots the best as they are all good bullet weights for the 30/06, (180,165,150 that is). I shoot 180 grain spitzer boat tail bullets in my 30/06 for everything, and I mean everything Sheep, Goats, antelope, hogs, deer, elk, bear and hopefully this year moose too. You just gotta find out what your gun likes the best and learn to shoot it well.

All three bullets will do the job. I hunt with 150 grains. My longest shot is 75-100yds. 150 does not tear up the shoulder as much. Shoot all three and shoot what your gun shoots best.
