I think we will need a little more information. Bolt action? lever action? pump? single shot? Sometimes the model number gets hid on the barrel under the forestock.

Ithaca sold a number of 22 rifles ( Single Shot, Pump & Lever ), under their name in the 60's & 70's.

If you can give us a detailed description of the rifle, we might be able to help you further?

While Ithaca made a number of .22's, I'd be surprised if you didn't find your gun to be either a Remington or Stevens.

Ithaca made a number if .22's that resemble a Winchester lever gun in looks. They also made some excellent semi-auto .22's that are still unappreciated as they're a bit ugly. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a boys model in some of their singles, but I have no record of it. (Note - Ithaca's are considered a step above most of the other inexpensive small rifles.)

On the other hand, both Remington and Stevens made a real business of selling inexpensive boys guns. Stevens made some really nice models that have come into the collectors realm. As for Remington, I don't think they ever made the transition. Their boys guns were crude, cheap, and safe.

I had a shot-out one and put in the trash. That's where $3.00 rifles should go after a career of 50 hard years or so. That, or as a wall decoration somewhere.
