Measure the outside diameter of both fired and unfired cases...see if something is causing non-normal pressure and expanding casings, making them difficult to extract. It also sounds like it would be worth a trip to a good 'n savvy gunsmith. If you do, send a whis written opinion to Kimber with a request for redress.

Several CA dealers will not deal with Kimber and some people praise Kimber above all others. The CSR thing (customer service).

When my $600 ($700 ~ $800 usually) Colt wasn't up to grade, I sent it back before firing it, and it came back beautifully looked-over. That has me hooked on them.

I really believe that Kimber will make it right. I would contact the head of the customer service dept and explain to them whats happening. Ask them to send a UPS pick up tag so that you don't have to pay to ship it back to them again. I have always had very positive experiences when dealing with Kimber.

Not that long ago I ordered an NIB Kimber Gold Match.( fortunately for me with a 3 day inspection priviledge )This gun is a scarce commodity and retails for around $1600.00, plus taxes, here in Canada.Boy, was I disappointed in it.The fit and finish were NOT as I expected.I'm surprised that it left the factory in the condition that it was in-- significant surface scratches, a badly chipped grip panel, etc.In fairness to Kimber fans I must confess that I did not shoot it-- I boxed it up and returned it to the dealer at my expense.Lesson learned-- be cautious of mail order purchases.

Continue to work w/ Kimber. If you take the pistol to a gunsmith that may create a warranty issue and you don't need any more "BS" to deal with.

Contact Kimber and make it clear to the service rep. that this pistol has been back before and your expecting it to be fixed or replaced. If the rep tries to mumble mouth you ask for a supervisor. Also get them to issue a pickup order.

I've never had a problem w/ Kimber pistol, but have known others that have and it seems that when there has been a problem the gun has sometimes gone back a second or even third time before things were rectified. And in one of those instances Kimber replaced the pistol.

These things can be frustrating as heck, but keep your calm and be patient and it should all work out in the end.

    Sometimes internal extractors need adjustment.

Kimer is very good with warranty repair work. They never seem flighty on the phone, just vey willing to make it right.

    Have them fix it.

While it is out do yourself a favor and buy atleast 2 Wilson Combat mags. Maybe 6. A good mag is a must. Bad mags can be the cause of many problems in 1911s.

You should consider a Wilson Comabt "bullet proof" extractor and slide stop. You can install these your self. Extractor tension can be done yourself too.

I have an "older" Kimber and never had any problems nor workmanship issues. I understand lately there have been some booboos. You might also tell them exactly which ammo you're having problems with. If it's white box Winchester, it may or may not have something to do with it some of these are "wally world" specials. I've never had a malfunction but that isn't to say your lot is OK. "Promotional" rounds aren't always the most consistant in speed, ect. They can be but aren't always the same from lot to lot.
