Bullet choices ?
I'm setting up my T/C Encore with a 22-250 Bull barrel. I do not reload. What would the experts reccomend on an ammo choice? What grain, poly tip, hp, sp? Please advise!

I will be shooting coyotes, groundhogs, just general varmint reduction.

For the money, Winchester makes a 45gr hollow point sold in a white box in 40 round "value packs" that is surprisingly accurate in most good guns.I've seen on the shelf at Wal-Mart,etc. It is very explosive on smaller varmits but I've never shot a coyote with it.-- Any of the Hornady v-max ammo is excellent and I have dumped coyotes with those bullets in handloads as well as turned small varmits into red mist. -- Any of the premium remington or federal ammo with the Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets is also excellent. The Nosler B.T. bullet is a little tougher bullet and not quite as explosive on the small stuff, but is better on the coyotes and larger stuff for penetration on a bad angle shot.-- Another ammo that is cheap but shoots well in most good guns is the PMP(not PMC) ammo out of africa. It is loaded a little slower but seems to be accurate and uses a plain old soft point bullet.-- You'll have to experiment a little and see what your barrel likes best.-- PS = It's been my experience that the light 40gr bullets are very fast and good at closer ranges to around 250yds or so, but for longer ranges the 50 or 55gr bullets are generally more accurate "way out there".........good luck.......[8D] 0
