just remove the buffer and spring,
unscrew the top stock screw,
remove stock, unscrew buffer tube,
dont lose buffer retainer and spring,
thread on new stock, stick in new short buffer
and spring, and enjoy. make sure its a preban rifle
before sticking telescoping stock on. you might want a stock
wrench to loosen/tighten buffer tube, but if you're like me, you just use your he man grip[:D]

When removing your buttstock, be sure and keep it oriented vertically during the first 1 1/2 in. or so as you slide it to the rear. The stock retains the takedown detent spring and pin within the reciever and twisting the stock can kink the spring.
Be careful to keep track of the small detent pin. It will sometimes stick inside the receiver and then fall out without being seen. You'll then be spending time knelt down in the armorer's prayer position.[:D]0 -
man i totally forgot the spring. that would have put him in a world of hurt. [B)] 0 -
sesh this thing gonna take more butt to unscrew than i got..got the stock off by unscrewing but this tube that the stock screws to is a bear..do i just unscrew this from the rec?? also this car stock i have has two springs in it same size i assume i just need to use one with the buffer 0 -
yes, the buffer tube unscrews from the receiver. be careful not to lose the buffer retainer and spring where the tube meets the rear of the receiver, and the small spring where the stock meets the receiver. hang in there[:D] 0
