    As I recall it is a Wildcat round developed by a Les or Lou Schafer that uses shortened 444 Marlin cases that are then turned to 44 mag chamber dimensions.

    Sounds like a lot of work, but the good news is that your barrel should still be able to be chambered to 444 Marlin.

    Consult with your gunsmith.

    Of course you could keep it as is, but I suspect that the cost of setting yourself up to make the round will be pretty high, unless you can find a reasonable priced source for the brass. And you'll need to find some load references, but there are a number of wildcat sites so you should find the info there, or someone that is more into the wildcat cartridges that can help you some.
