Electronic Scope - Hunting Legality?
Read somewhere that in some states electronic scopes aren't legal. Any one know of a list of these states?

I know that in Michigan it's illegal to hunt with a scope that emits light IE: laser and infra-red sights. Iluminated reticals and red dot's are OK however, as they don't illuminate the game.

Anything that would emit a beam of light at or onto a target would be viewed as 'shining' in Wisconsin. 0 -
in PA you can't use a sight that projects light/laser on the target 0 -
Ditto in Virginia.

Thanks guys, seems like a plain red dot is legal most other places, any other scopes too just as long as they dont emit any light, huh? 0 -
That's about it.
The laws were written before IR and Laser sights existed, the intent is to define/restrict "spotlight" poaching (maglight mounted under forend).
