Yugo SKS (anyone chrono this???)
I was wondering if anyone had chronoed the Yugo SKS?
Has anyone tried it with gas valve open then closed there has to be some difference in the fps what was it?
Does shooting with the gas port closed give you any more FPS??
If force ain't work'n... Your not use'n nough of it.
I know the spelling is bad but guess what I DON'T CARE

Recently did just that very thing and found some interesting though inconclusive results. Thought I was onto something when I noted a 250 fps drop off on openning the grenade launcher cut-off(am assuming we're talking about the 59/66) . When I changed ammo type (manufacturer) the problem seemed to dissapear only to be erratic when I switched the shut-off back. I was using two guns and seemed to get no consistancy between them either! Both seemed to be about 2 to 3 inch accurate @ 100 which I consider decent for this type of gun which also seems to be confusing considering the disparrate velocities. I guess this only proves that the Russian designed guns have sloppy(though effective) tolerances and consistancy on all things but function is hit and miss. Wish I had a clear answere for you but, alas, such is not the case!!

You don't run out of space when you hit the bottom of the box you can just keep typing. Thanks for the info it seesm logical to say it would increas a little with the gas port closed since none of the gas is being bled off to ctcle the action
