F.A. LOOMIS IXL NO 35 i am unfamilier with this maker / brand
its a SXS exposed hammers top lever with double triggers
30 1/4" BBLS (FINE DAMASCUS) raised rib with scroll pattern top
IXL No 35 / extractors / brass bead front sight
nice engraved "DUCK TAKING OFF OVER WATER" on bottom of reciever (1" oval)
semi-pistol grip stock / checkered at wrist and on forend
12 gauge 15B / 14M CHOKE on both BBL`s (CHOKER)
"CROSSED SWORDS(pointing down) W/ LETTERS" proofs
"CROWN OVER B" british proofs
its a british gun, its pre-1900, its in NRA GOOD condition
its a wall hanger


VALUE??? AGE??? MAKER??? COLLECTABLE??? ANY INFO???

    The only reference I can find, believes that "F. A. Loomis" marked guns were a "Store Brand" for a dealer in New York City.

    He notes a Crescent made hammer gun with the same name on it.

    As I couldn't find Loomis's name, in a reference published in England, I believe this to be correct.

    i am stumped as well...
    my thought was "TRADE NAME" as well.
    it absolutly has BRITISH proof marks all over it.
    i do not think it was made in the US or BELGIUM.
    i went through all my books and came up empty.


    anyone know the answers???
