(Nato) 7.62x51 mm

I have a G1 FAL that I have had for several years, can anyone tell me what the head spacing is for 7.62x51(nato) ammo is? I am just now getting around to building it, I am not using a new Barrel I think this is the original Barrel, not sure it has been a long time since I aquired it.

    Not exactly sure of your question, but will give it a shot. If you are building the rifle from a kit, put it all together and simply make sure it will close on a stamdard .308 go guage, and will not close on a NO Go or a field, depending on how loose you want it to be. If it doesn't fit into this area, and will not close on a go, or closes on a field, you need a different locking shoulder. Yes I know the .308 and 7.62x51 are different, but for the purpose of building a FAL they are the same. Generally the 7.62 allows for a little sloppier chamber than the .308.
