I got another one for any one who wants to try. I found a piece of 45ACP brass out at the range the other day. It appears to be only once fired. Now here is where it gets crazy. I tripple checked the hole for the primer, It was made for a small pistol primer. I know that the 45 takes large primer but it doed not look like this one does. It is marked "WIN NT 45 AUTO". Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Ray

dd, the shot rounds are standard issue "survival" loads issued to aircrew in WW2 and later. These bring perhaps $1 each, more if still in the foil overwrap moisture barrier as issued.

ryan, that's a good question. I know from another GB member that FA experimented with SP primers in the .45. I have no idea of the origin of yours, although the headstamp is intriguing and suggestive of a non-standard loading (if only for the obvious issue of the primer). I'll shop that one out to some other places where more knowledgeable collectors hang out to see if I can obtain an answer.

Ryan, for what its worth I found the same type case. The Dillon sure doesn't like to reload it. Thats how I noticed it.John

There are 2 styles of Winchester NT (Non-Toxic) 45acp ammo.
One uses a LP primer with a grossly oversized flash hole, the other uses a normal sized flash hole, but a small pistol primer.

Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

Tailgunner thanks for the info. The primer is with the other 1,000s that I have reloaded in the last couple of nights and weekend. I will keep it for a good range quiz every now and then.

    Thanks

The ammo I shoot outta my KP90 is the winchester winclean NT. They do use a small pistol primer, and are pretty reliable. Shot over 2k rounds through mine and haven't had a prob yet...and they are a very clean firing ammo.

Those remington rounds are a discontinued commercial loading, much like those from cci-speer. They are not military issue..
