Bobski,
I'd be interested in knowing how to tell....0 -
early ones have a roll pin holding the red plastic part to the mag. and, they have small white letters HI STANDARD on the bottom. in 1965, all they did was take old slant grip mags and attach the red bases. all 106 mags did not start out created for the 106. they were leftover parts from 102/3/4 series, made to save production costs. later versions (107 & up) were black bases.

Thank you Bobski......
I recently purchased a 107 with 4 mags, two of which are the red based. I don't think they've ever been loaded in the pistol. I feel quite proud of my buy.0 -
kidguns........were those 2 red mags dark green followers or light green followers? dark green are the aftermarket ones. the light green followers are patented and cant be copied. 0 -
They're the light green. At least they appear to be. Without comparison I can't say what is light or dark, but they're definately not dark in my mind's eye.
The red feet are dark red and the High Standard name is block lettered in white.0
