WHAT IS A 17 HIGH STANDARD??
I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.0 -
The .17 HMR is based on the .22 magnum. There is a new round based on the .22 LR. It (or maybe they) are called the .17 High Standard, .17 Aguilla & the .17 Horady. What I have not been able to find out is if they are all the same. 0 -
thanks for the information.

Hello last July at Camp Perry NRA national matches HIGH STANDARD had a display with barrels and ammo in 17 HIGH STANDARD. You might want to contact them cartridge was based on the 22 long rifle it will not interchange with 17 hornaday hope this helps 0 -
thanks alot. do you know how the .17 high standard did against the .17 hmr? is it as accurate as the .17 hmr?

ok, I think I know this ,however I am not an expert and don't attempt to be so if I'm completly wrong here just feel free to call me names behind my back[:D],here goes. The .17"cal" is accually a 17 grain bullet based on a 22 magnum it shoots from a 17hmr HORNADY MAGNUM RIMFIRE I believe the .17 high standard is a center fired bullet as for accuracy i guess technically the center fire should be, but own a savage .17hmr and i don't see how it could be much more accurate.

This should settle it & it answered my question.
