Value of a Iver Johnson slide action Rifle

It is Marked Iver Johnson, Made in West Germany. It has a Slide Action. .22 S,L,LR it also has a Munich emblem, Owl, ERMA, and another unidentified marking on the receiver, an owl emblem on the barrel behind front sight. It was purchased in the upper 1970's, there are some scraches on stock, very small almost invisible.

    Sounds like the EG-72 but I believe it was only chambered (barrel stamped) as a 22LR, so if your barrel is marked for 22 S, L and LR it may be something else that isn't covered in my library.

    If it is an EG-72 the value at 95% is $80-100.

    Mfg. date for EG-72 is 1970-76 which is close to the time period you mentioned.

    There are a couple folks that have the 22's down cold, hopefully one of them will see and respond to your post.

    iver johnson imported this rifle between 1985 and 1990 it was called the target master, chambered for 22 short, long and long rifle rimfire cartridges. they also imported a 22 rimfire lever action chambered for all three rimfire cartridges and a 22long rifle rimfire u.s. carbine look-a-like, also a lock breech gas operated 22 magnum carbine look-a-like. i would rate the value a little higher than contender man about $100 to $165 depending on condition.

    the EG72 sounds like the beeman imported version of this rifle, which was imported in the 1970's

    Have no where near your depth of knowledge of 22's and glad you saw this post, however the thing that was (is) throwing me is that he is stating the rifle was purchased in the late 70's and in that time frame the EG-72 was the best I could come up with in my limited reference material, which yet again appears to be very weak on these guns.
