I just bought a Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45/70...the sights are ok, but with my eye sight getting older I was wondering if a scope wouldn't be benificial...any thoughts and what type of scope..make model etc..

I came across a 6.5-20x50AO Leupold scope, in excellent condition. It is late 70's or early 80's production. What's it worth?[?] 0 -
Leupold or nikon. Both make excellent optics and I believe both make EER pistol scopes. DO NOT waste your money on a burris.
Everyone has a photographic memory. Only some have film.0 -
BUY THE BEST YOU CAN AFFORD. LEP. IF YOU CAN.

There are a lot of quality scopes IER, and EER that will work, such as those mentioned.
In reference to the negative posts on Burris, the #1 handgun scope used in competition, by those who place in the top five slots is.....
Burris.
Buy what you like, and can afford, but keep both eyes, and an open analytical mind set.

Guns and Glass is right as usual. Don't overlook Burris!

Guns and Glass is rarely wrong,..and I too stand behind the recommendation of the Burris products. I have 2 and possibly 1 more on the horizon. I purchased one with a broken crosshair for cheap,...sent it back,..and they fixed it free. I had it back in my hands within a week and 1/2. I also requested new lense covers and new target turret caps,...both were replaced for free as well.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
